Music Interview by Xttrawave Magazine

Mike Klaw on his creative tastes, being influenced by David Guetta & new single ‘How I Act’

Great to have you on Xttrawave. Please, introduce yourself?

My name is Mike and I’m going under the stage name Mike Klaw.

What got you into music and made you realize that it was your chosen path?

I have been in music since I was a kid.

Literally, I came from a musician family.

Tell us about your new music? And what’s the story behind it?

My new song “How I Act” it’s a Pop Crossover track. With hip-hop, R&B influence.

The story behind the song is about a lovely girl with two different moods.

She is a little beautiful girl who doesn’t really care about her looks etc..

The collaboration is between a group from Los Angeles called “Three Guests” and me

What makes Is your music unique? And how would you describe it?

I have a unique music vision and I always try to put that vision into my production (it’s not always easy to stick on it but I’m trying my best).

my vision is to produce crossover music that can easily travel and connected people from everywhere and any community.

Its a mix of Pop, R&B, Hip-hop and some afro, tropical influence into it sometimes. all of my songs sound different but they all have something similar. The happy Mood.

Do you play any instruments? And why do you love it?

I do play piano. I have been playing keys since I was 6 years old. “It’s my favorite instrument. I used to be much much better than now though” (Smile).

Who are your biggest musical influences? And any particular artist/band you would like to collaborate with in the future?

Honestly, I love many artists and respect their work.. But my biggest musical influence is David Guetta since 2009. David Guetta’s success inspired me to become a PRODUCER. It a great Dj/Producer.

I used to have his songs a lot in my DJ playlist during shows, back in the day”.

I would like to collaborate in the future with more major artists such as Khalid, Rihanna, Bruno Mars, Justin Bieber and more.. If I have a collaboration with David Guetta on a track one day. That will be a great accomplishment for me.

Which is the best moment in your musical career that you’re most proud of?

I have been djing in many major clubs since 2006 and any of my club’s performances as a DJ was unique But I definitely believe that the best moment in my career has begun once I’ve started to produce my own music. Being a producer helps me to push my creativity and dj skills to a all other level, which’s really enjoyable…

How do you balance your music with other obligations – family, friends or work?

Honestly, since I took my career to the production level.. My life has completely changed. I travel to different countries very often for shows, music meetings and business entertainment etc…  It’s very hard to balance but I’m doing my best to always take a little time to talk to my family and also visite them whenever I can. Because I need that break down. This music industry is too stressful sometimes.

What advice would you give to aspiring musicians?

Obviously, With the internet, things became much easier for a talented person to get his name out there, but at the same time, things can be very difficult too. The number of people doing music and want to be the next in the spotlight is huge!

Very hard work and a good marketing plan it the best to get your name out there.

Young and new Musician needs to know that Some people will be lucky enough to drop their first track and blow up straight away with that first song.. But that is very rare unless you have powerful people around you ready to push you harder in that music challenge.. if not, Hard work, consistency, and a great marketing plan will be the only good option to help you build a very solid music career and get your name in the spotlight.

Keep working and keep pushing yourself to always do better no matter what until your hard work starts to pay off.. It’s the only best option, I believe.

If you had one message to give to your fans, what would it be?

Thank you for all the love and support.

I’m doing and will always do my best to give the best of my music.

What’s next for you? Any upcoming projects or tours?

I’m currently planning to release a few singles this year. I already drop Two and more to come.. and also working on my first album.
